Bicycle Repairs and Service in Stansted

Inspection Preparation

Thorough bicycle clean and degrease with wheels off
Remove / Clean degrease chain and cassette
Carry out a full overall safety inspection

Frame Checks

Check frame condition, looking for dents/cracks/damage and forks are not twisted
Check saddle position, fixed securely and Seatpost is not seized
Handlebar, stem positions correct and tight, grips/end caps
Headset—no play / free rotation

Brakes

Brake pads, are firmly fixed, working and pads not worn or damaged
Check blocks / pads are the correct type, position and clear of sharp objects
Check brake adjustment, cable clamp bolt
The brakes cables are in good condition, run smoothly
Disk brake pads not worn or contaminated
Hydraulics not spongy (bleeding extra)

Brake & Gear Cables

Check the condition of all 4 cables and outers and replace as required

Wheels

No wobble, turn smoothly, wheel securely fixed
The braking rim is not worn
No broken, loose spokes
Check tyres for wear and inflate as specified on tyres

Chainset

Check the bottom bracket for free rotation
Chainset runs true & free
Chain wheels, check teeth for wear or damage
Check if the chain stretched
Pedal threads correctly lubricated/fitted
Front derailleur, position, fixing bolt, and end stop adjustments
Rear derailleur cable clamp bolt
Rear derailleur torque and end-stop adjustment

Re-lube all moving parts
Test ride and complete all documentation
